Advice on wheel size for lowered 99 996 C2

I searched all last night....even went through the bazillion pages on the 996 car gallery here, (lot's of great looking cars by the way) but I can't seem to find any threads discussing the possibility of 11in wide wheels on the 99 996 C2. I am thinking about picking up the Alleggeritas from tirerack and they have an 11in wide option for the rears. The car has the H&R lowering springs on it now. Just don't know if the 11'ers will tuck or not...

So, does anyone here have experience with 11inch wide wheels on a lowered 996 C2?

Again, sorry if I missed a thread on here, I know it can be annoying for regulars, but, honestly I searched for 3 and half hours last night with no luck.

Thanks,
Uncle

your going to have to cut the lip on the fenders for it to fit under there

You can get 11" to tuck, but you will have to roll the fenders:

Here is my C2 with 11' wide 51 offset:

Hey thanks for the responses guys! Wow, both cars look fantastic with the 11's. I have been down the road of rolling/trimming fenders before, and I think I will pass on that. Talked with Damon from tirerack .... my mind is made up I will be going with 10's.... Now to decide between Alleggerita 18's and Ultrleggera 19s.... 19's are dangerous on michigan roads.... but will look great.... Hmmmmmm.

you shouldnt have to roll the fenders with the correct offset on an 11 with 18s. The 19s will require some modification, I just purchased 18x11 innsbruck (will be here tomorrow) with a 55 offset which is less aggressive than the 51 strat is running, I dont expect to have any rubbing issues with the coilovers ill be running. Will update on how it fits when complete

Im running 11s with 315/25/19s and I have H&R springs. Absolutely NO cutting needed with the correct offset. I barely needed to roll the lip.

Wasn't too keen personally on those two wheels but then I saw the OZ Superforgiata(coming soon for 5x130) and Challenge and like those better personally. Usually wheels with dish or lip to them makes the wheels look 1 size smaller imo, so if you're into the big wheel look, I would do 19's.

The 18" OZ Alleggerita pretty much mimic the factory 996 GT3 wheel offset of 63 on the 11' rears if I remember correctly, which fits perfectly fine under a narrow body C2 with no issues at all even if you're lowered.

Not sure on the offset of the 19's though. As others have stated with the correct offset 11's are no sweat on a narrow body cars. There are 996 GT3 guys even running 12's CCW's in the rear with no rubbing issues.

Im running a 19x11 with a 63offset. I only had to roll the very back side o my fender..... easy fix.

As Strat10 shows issues with rubbing and having the need to cut the fender is because the offset is too low. The lower the number the farther out the wheel will sit. Move that same wheel to a 63 and it will tuck nicely.

Get the 18"s. they can look very good too and the 19" are a pain for many reasons. I have 19"s.

10's are easy and no work but I do wish I had gone with 11's on my old 996, make it happen.

I have 19"s on all four and I just had to replace my right rear tire due to bulges in the inner sidewall. They said you must have hit something... I think I would have known if I hit something *****. I really have no idea what happened, but luckily all tires were very new so just one tire would work. Running 275/30's in the rear
