996 sputters sometimes not all.

Hi guys,
I need help and some feedback. I have a 99 996 with 129k. Stick. Recently under normal driving etc. When Im at a red light it feels like the engine is not getting gas and sounds almost like i have a turbo. When i drop it into first the engine sounds like a trobbling sound, and i have to play with the shifter to make it run smooth.. Sometimes at 3000 rpt it goes away. It doesnt happen all the time but it did make the check engine light go. At times it doesnt happen the check engine light will go off and the problem isnt there. I read on spark plug problems and cleaned the MAF sensor already. Any ideas.? Im in so cal and any other p groups besides cars and coffee? thanks

Wayne

Sup geno, thanks for hollering at me. Was this a problem you ran into also? Did you replace your coil pack with another name brand? do i have to drop the exhaust to get to the plugs and coil packs? thanks
i wanted to do this myself but theres no book i see to do it yourself.. only idea is on youtube i got to do oil changes and brakes.Previous plugs were replaced at a shop.

Since it threw a check engine code, get an reader and see what the code is.

It could be coil packs, O2 sensor(s), cats and/or a vacuum line. A simple task: clean the throttle body and check the OBD for codes first.

The MAF could be bad too. I know you mentioned that you had cleaned it, but it could be beyond cleaning.
