Dealer. Best pricing will likely be at sunset or suncoast.

What they said above....very interesting combo for an IMS failure...yours being a higher mileage and tip....
it could just be a cracked head...in that case...you won't need a new motor...

These incidents are IMS related?

No, I think he was implying if I bought a used engine, I might encounter IMS problems.

Sorry I should have been more clear...
You have a tiptronic with 90k miles with oil/water mix correct?
If this is the case, I was wondering why you are looking for a whole new/used motor
It could be a cracked head...which does happen on these motors and if that's the case, you don't need a new motor...you can just fix the head...a few DIY's have been posted on the forums....
Usually if someones looking for a motor, it's because of total failure such as an IMS that blew everything up...
Your car being a tip and 90k mile car, I was implying that you don't often see IMS total engine failures. I'm generalizing here but it seems like tiptonics have fewer IMS issues and fewer cars with higher miles such as yours suffer from IMS. Of course there's always exceptions...

Thanks for the clarification.
I may have misunderstood my indy. He had back surgury and returned my paniced call from his hospital bed.
He did say we can now go 3.8 or 4.0, but I think he said I need to buy a motor.
The heads haven't come off yet - so maybe he can rebuild mine.

Does anyone know Instant-G? http://www.instant-g.com/index.html

When he removes the heads, he will see if you need engine. if the cylinder wall(s) are not cracked, and is only the head, you do not need a new engine just a new head. There is a place in Costa Mesa CA that makes or rebuilds them. I can't remember the name it is probably in forums.

I got my engine rebuilt by duane at vision motorsports in Lake Forest. Very good price too.

I had a guy attempt a compression check and coolant came gushing out of cylinder #5.
First he thought it was a piston, then cylinder wall - possibly caused by ****ty gasoline.
