Arrow Tire Advice

Long story short. Flat rear driver's side tire, 4 A.M. last night coming home from work. Need new tires. Thinking of switching to Michelin PS2's. Question is, do I need XL tires for front and rear? Have a 2004 911 C2. Pics here:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...acky-pics.html

So, these are the current specs:

Front 235/35ZR19 91Y
Rear 285/30ZR19 94Y

Do I need XL tires in the rear? And go for N spec in the front? Please advise!

Thanks!

P.S. I'm a wheel/tire newb, so go easy on me!

Depends on what type of driving and how fast you go. I went with sumitomo's at half the price and am happy with them.

Get the new michelin's super sport. cheaper than ps2's and better. You can get all 4 for around $1,000.

Closer to $1500 in those sizes. I had the Pilot SS mounted a week ago and like them very much.

Hankook's were a decent deal...my initial feeling was they felt pretty good. I now have about 2000 miles on them. They are super soft and aren't real confidence inspiring in spirited cornering. Great for daily non spirited type driving though. Quiet, comfortable, and seem to be wearing fairly well.

Was thinking of getting the PS2's, but thought they were too expensive since I won't be tracking the car or anything. Thought about getting the Super Sports, but they didn't have them in stock. Only the 235/35/19's. They didn't have any 285's. So, ended up purchasing the Pilot Sport A/S Plus all around. Got them installed yesterday and couldn't be happier. Since I drive less than 1000 miles a year, they should last a pretty good while before I have to change them out. All season tires while in sunny So Cal? Well, they were cheaper than the PS2's and have better threading. Just want 'em to last!

Thanks for the input guys!

as for tire wear, the most important factor on the rears is ALIGNMENT!!

if it out of spec, the car will eat the tires (in say 3-4 k mi)

think about it.

For the Carrera C2 , have a look at Fuzion ZRI . Tire looks a bit narrow and is slippery for the first 200 miles or so but after that, it's pretty darn good for the money. It also has a nice wide lip to "cushion" against curb hits possibly the least noisy tire when worn 50% or more. Did I tell you my fronts lasted for 40K miles and my rear tire lasted more than 25k miles with spirited driving and pumped to 36 pounds air pressure?

Another thumbs up for the Ventis V12's. My set was about $700 installed. I have had for 5,000 miles and have been very happy. I don't track my car. It is my weekend/date car for my wife and me.
