Steering wheel vibrates at 100km/h any suggestions?

The car has been doing this since I bought it but I haven't given it much thought as I dont drive it allot in the highway. But I have noticed that the steering wheel shakes one I hit 100km/h and on to probably 150. I have gone faster then that but I don't remember it getting worse, maybe better as the vibration became more frequent.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to get the wheels balanced first thing, then check the wheel bearings out, any one have any other suggestions of what to check?

First check for worn tires.

The tires are definely worn, but it did do the same thing but probably not quite as bad when I had the winter rims and tires on.

Other the the rims and tires, could anything else be affecting it?

Get a "Road Force Balancing". I had the same issue, slight steering wheel vibration at highway speed. I had my rims refinished and they balanced them and still had the same problem, so I brought it to my Porsche Shop and had them Road Force Balance them with the Special Road Force Machine and it fixed the problem. Car drives so smooth!!!

Probably?

It's either the wheels and/or tires or something else. If two sets of wheels vibrate, check your brakes for warped rotors or bad transfer of pad material. It is possible I suppose that both sets of wheels need rebalanced, too. Do find a roadforce balancer and have it checked. That's a good start.

If the other stuff doesn't fix this, it could be the lower control arms.

Sometimes it could be as simple as how you tightened the bolts for the wheels. If you do it in a star pattern and balanced real good it should fix it. It could also be alignment, tire and wheel balance, wheel weight.
