Dennis is correct. Some OEM lenses uses thicker and better plastics to resist some higher wattage bulbs but I have yet to see aftermarket lights/lenses that can stand the abuse of most OEM units.

You should be good with 35w HID's as most of the heat is generated on the ballast itself and not as much on the bulb.
