Suspension Help

I've noticed that the ride quality is a bit harsh on the roads and didn't realize how much until I rode in my friends '03 turbo the other day. I have an '02 C2 running 225/35-19 and 315/25-19 and both my car and my friends turbo are lowered with H&R springs about 1.2" but his ride seems a lot smoother than mine. Now I'm looking at changing my shocks but before I do I'd like to get some opinions as to what the best route for me to go with. Shocks or coil overs? I know the latter is more expensive but if worth it I will pony up the money to get things right. But not $3+K. That seems excessive for just street driving.

My car is only used for streets and no track. I'd like to improve handling and ride quality on the car without having a noisy suspension and keep it lowered the way it is. Love the look. Maybe I'm asking too much but I thought I'd ask you guys for some help. I've come across the following below and I really am in way over my head as to suspension components and it can get a bit overwhelming with all the technicalities. Again, just looking for the best ride quality with improved handling but don't know the difference between all in the SHOCKS category and all in the COIL OVER category and what the best setup for my needs would be and if I need sway bars, lower control arms, etc?

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you

SHOCKS
Bilstein Heavy Duty Shock
Blistein Sport Shock
Koni Sport
Koni FSD Damper Set

COIL OVER
H&R Clubsport Coil over
H&R Street Performance Coil Over
Bilstein PSS10 Coil Over
KW Clubsport Ki Coil Over
KW Variant 1 Coil Over
KW Variant 3 Coil Over

SWAY BAR
H&R sway bar
Eibach Sway Bar

Lower control arms, etc

I recently installed coilovers on my 04 C4S and i love them, and they ride really smooth. I went with the BC racing coils though because they have dampening as well. If you ever need to order a set i can help you with that as well

If you end up using the eibach sway bar let me know how it turns out.

since you already have the springs you have I would try upgrading the shocks to the Blistein sports. the info I've read stats the the largest difference between the sport and the HD is a difference in shaft length. so they work better with lower springs.

Personally I opted for the X74 aftermarket option since its a match between shocks and springs.. but i don't have it yet... so no real world feedback..

Thanks for the input guys. I came across H&R coil overs on AWE Tunings website and they're having a sale. Doesn't seem that badly priced but wondering if anyone's had experience with this setup and if they're worth it?

H&R makes a nice product. If I remember correctly the shocks are not adjustable which is a bit unusual for a Coilover. Also if memory serves my the shock is sourced by bilstien.

Best? coilovers...there are cheaper coilovers but if you don't want to pay that much, there's nothing wrong with springs with aftermarket shocks. I have H&R with bil. sports( It's been a while since they're installed....I'm pretty sure they're the sports not HD...one is about an inch shorter than the other). It's pretty firm but I don't think it's harsh.
Sway bar wise, I guess you can go many routes but I kept the front stock and went eibach rears. Definately better than before.
