Two simple Mods

Well these are very simple, inexpensive and fun mods to do.

First is the Hardwired Garage door opener. Very handy and gets rid of my big garage door opener. Looks very stock.

More info on the install can be found on the links below.

Second Mod is the Spoiler switch. Now instead of having to reach down near my ankles it's handy on the center console.

Again, more info on the install can be found on the links.

Both mods are very easy and take about 20minutes to do.

BTW - the spoiler switch on the TT is on the center console....you can probably order the switch so it looks stock at your dealer...

Didn't use any hardware from sharkworks. I just opened my Garage door opener and soldered two wire to it. Got all the parts I needed at Radio Shack and the Switches I got from a local dealer.

Hey Itzkirb,
Can you give us the part numbers for both switches? Those are the mods I want to do next.
Thanks!

I got the spoiler dash switch kit at boxsey.com. A bit pricey for what you get, but it takes the mystery out of doing it.

I'd be more than happy to make a wiring kit for someone local for 1/2 the price Boxey charges....

Itzkirb,
I looked at the picture links. Where did you connect to the card? Did you just connect to the prongs on the other side of the card of the push switch?

Nice work. Clean and stock looking. Cab owners will have to use one of the blank switches on the center console for garage door opener because of the rear window switches.

Hey Boca

Yes, I just soldered two wires to the prongs underside where the button is.

I think there are different switches for different model years. I think pre-02 had the glossy switches and the 02+ had the matte finish. Itzkirb, it looks like you have two different styles. Or is it that it doesn't have fingerprints all over it yet??

I didn't notice it was a glossy finish until you and someone else mentioned it. Now I have to go and order a Matte finish one.

Crap!

Black Matte Finish Unlock Button Part Number?

Does anyone know the part number for the black matte (non-glossy for the 2000+) unlock switch?
