Nothing bad to report (boring post)

Hello 996 Friends-

I went for a nice 60 mile drive today in my 1999 996..... No problems. I have owned this baby since 2003, put about 42K miles on it over the last 9 years, and nothing negative to report.

Crisp shifting, nice acceleration, with original eng and trans.

I understand the psychology of having a car question or problem and getting on a forum, but I think that the negative press on the 996 inaccurately and overwhelming overshadows the great things about these cars.

So, for all of the questions/comments I see in the forums about the 996, reliability, etc, I just wanted to say that I am in the category of happy 996 owners. (its as reliable as my 69 911, which I often refer to as "just as reliable as a honda").

Thanks!

Thanks for this post. It's easy to forget this is probably the realty for most 996 drivers but it's rare to see posts Initiated with nothing to report but good times. Good work.

Although I just got the car last DEC, I also consider myself a "happy/content/satisfied" 996 owner (63K miles, 02 C2 cab...I am the 4th owner) P.S. Hope I don't jinx myself

Another beautiful top down day in AZ. Like Krom, I headed out of town to a desert lake. 33 mile round trip with lots of great scenery, turns, dips, straightaways and very few cars. No Johnny Law either. All I can say is, I love this car!

Actually it's the opposite on the Ferrari forums. They post and think something is wrong if they have a good drive and nothing breaks.
