Question question: 996 C4S rims on rims 1996 993 C2?

I know this might be the wrong place to put this thread but i guess most of guys might have a 993 before and might have tried to put on 18" rims.

Will the C4S rims fit on a 1996 993 C2??? If so, I might have prject to embark on...

Unless it's a widebody C2, then no....the C4S rear rims are too wide. A 996 C2/C4 will fit fine.

Are they the same offset? I have 10" wide rear wheels on my narrow body 95 993.

I thought the C4S was an 11" rear...same as the 996 Turbo. A 996 C2/C4 narrow body has the 10" rears.

There's a guy on Rennlist that's done it, but I don't know if they were 10's or 11's.

It looks like the rear wheel is 18x11 offset 65...I am not sure about a 993 with that wide of a wheel....its possible on a 996 that's the GT3 wheel size and offset.

With that said. I am 100% sure that you cannot fit an 11" wide rear wheel on the back of a stock narrow body 993. There is no room in there (inside or outside) for another inch. I attempted to put a 9" rear wheel in the fron once and it rubbed on the inside of my fender well and scratched the crap out of it. I assume that an 11" in the rear would have a similar effect with a side order of rubbing the tire on the fender lip.

Someone with a C4S may wanna chime in....To me the 65 offset does not sound right. If thats the GT3 size, then it would be an inch too narrow on a widebody...So I would think the offset is more like 45 and then again, I would say it wont fit.

Stock C4S wheel sizes are the same as the 996 Turbo:

Front: 18x8 ET50
Rear: 18x11 ET45

Scott, that is almost correct. If your C4S was ordered with sport technology wheels, then you have 18x11 et 63 at the rear with factory 17mm spacers.

Look for a 996 narrow body, they'll work perfect... I recently sold a set off of my 996 to a 993 driver and they went on nice....
