Clear Bras
Does anyone have any ideas about the invisible/clear bras that are put on the front of cars? The rocks are really getting out of control. How much are they and where can I get it done???
I've had 3 cars with X-pel kits and I have been very happy with them. Here is the web site, which allows you to find the nearest dealer.

The hood and fender will show a line. The bumper is pretty much invisible. You get used to the line and it's not visible 5 ft away. I rather see a line than a bunch of chips on the hood. You can always get the whole hood and fender wrapped with the custom cut. It'll be 2-3x the cost but that's the only way to make it completely invisible.
Here is another site that sells clear bras
I have used both xpel and invinca both good companies, both of them uses 3M materials.

to get full coverage you're going to have to use a combation of kits. for some reason, none of them offer all of the pieces if you really want to wrap it up. i used as much as xpel had to offer, and then used invinsashield to cover the remainder. i've got it on:
bumper
hood
mirrors
headlight lens
a pillars and across the top of the windshield
behind the wheel wells
door sills
door handles
rocker panels
i'd shrink wrap the car if i could get away with it
just got done with a 3K mile trip. most of it highway. only ended up with a couple small chips on the lower sides of the bumper, just past where the bra ends. i think xpel should have made the bumper a little bigger, but the front bumper install is such a ***** as it is, it probably just wasn't feasible to add more material.

I just got it done. I was very happy with the results. The cost ran near $800 for what I got. And as someone mention earlier, I'd much rather see a very fine line in the hood then the nicks for rocks.
I guess what I'm wondering is that if this stuff looks that good why do we even have painted surfaces on cars without a covering? I always wondering why we don't just have powder coated cars too, so I guess I'm just strange.
So if I did the front bumper, hood and side fenders I'd basically only have to wax half a car? Nice side benefit....

ditto on what arling said. the clear bra doesn't look bad at all, but it doesn't add anything either...unless you count the lack of chips and scratches
to maintain the bra, you still have to wax it like you would your paint. it gets swirls too, so you can polish it as well if you want.

Hmm...I'm not looking for the bra to improve the looks of the car (other than avoiding chips) I'm just not looking for it to detract from the looks either. I could certainly see how polishing the material would help it's apperance but I'm not sure I buy how waxing it would help it in the least. Is the addition a few extra microns of polymer (or wax) on top of a thick sheet of plastic really going to make much difference?
