Scissor Lift

Just a quick pic of the scissor lift in my garage. Bendpaq MD-6XP scissor lift with separate 110v hydraulic pump and reservoir. Lift works great and very simple set up. Wood ramps are temporary since I was a bit eager to try out the lift. Will do a proper job on the ramps.

The clearance from the garage floor to the underside of the lift arms is about 4" so I stacked (2) 2x12's to give me 3" on either side of the lift frame. The height from the floor to the top of the lift pads is about 5.5" so with the 3" from the ramps I have no clearance issues (stock 2003 996 C4S).

The arms on the lift swing out easily with large rubber pads that fit nicely to the lift points on the car. Maximum lift height is 48" with a 6,000lb lift capacity.

Nice lift for anyone that doesn't want to drill into the garage floor.

Is there some kind of locking mechanism in case of a pressure loss while you are under it? Where did you get it?

There are some slick ones mounted under floor level to give it a flush look. I might go that route when I get one eventually.

Are you planning on doing the rear brace mod allowing you to drop the engine?

This was an even more compelling reason for me to get one.

I have one of these as well,it's a great thing to have in your garage. As far as it locking. When you raise it up high enough there are a bunch of groves you will hear click, when you get it to the height you want, you lower the lift a bit and it will lock it in. To lower it, raise the lift up a bit, pull the release and lower the lift. Like i said,it's a great product.

The flush mount is great way to go but for me building a ramp was easier.

At some point I'll probably do the cross brace mod. Cut the brace and make it a bolt on piece.
