Hey Carlos,

haha, i already have it!

so why didn't you just say that from the very start...??? what exactly are you trying to prove?

since you "have it" tell me this... can you set it up to do a measured roll on from 60-100 mph and show a result in terms of seconds? smartass.

Post some pics... I'm sure we'd all like to see it... since you "have it"

show us some of the graphs you've produced with it as well... I'd truly like to see the diff on the mods you've done... if you do "have it" then why all the dyno testing? -> explain that one to me... from your device you should be able to see differences at a very detailed level.

And even though the stopwatch method is not as accurate it is accurate enough to detect increases and decreases in performance... if your good at that is.

My friend has a C2 (couple) and I have a C4 (cab) both are 2002, and there is a difference off the line. I would be happy with the same torque that his STOCK C2 has.

Any additional thoughts?
Robert, don't know what to tell you... I think many of us are at a loss for words when we do upgrades and don't notice a difference... the headers and hi-flow cats should make more HP but whether you will "feel" it or not... I don't know.. your guess is as good as mine....

not trying to prove anything, just discussing. i have it but have yet to set it up. the only reason i know about this software is because of the obdii scanner that i bought from the same company. it came free with the obdii scanner and the scanner was ~$200. i can show you pics of the scanner if you REALLY want. i never set it up because i have decided to do proper dyno runs instead because they are even more accurate and i have the means. to tell you the truth, i really should set it it up cuz hey, it is free (to me)... just need to find a clear, flat stretch of road.

you can read for yourself if the software can do the 60-100 timed runs... actually it plots speed vs. time among other parameters. this is exactly what you want. smartass huh, sheeesh!. all you have to do is read the the weblink i provided. what you are specifically looking for is speed vs. time plots. call me a wuss but there's no friggin way 100mph runs, kinda irresponsible.

here's what it said cuz i guess you didn't bother to read it, from their website:

"What it can do:

0-60ft time
0-60 MPH
1/8 mile time
1/8 mile speed
1/4 mile time
1/4 mile speed
G Forces
SAE Horsepower and Torque vs RPM graphing
Speed vs Time graphing (Acceleration and Deceleration)
Compute Gear Ratio and Cd
Compute Volumetric Efficiency"

this is not the only company that does obdII dyno. i did a quick google search "car dyno obdii"
i got this:

http://www.digimoto.com/demos/dyno/dyno.htm (only $94 bucks)

dude, i am only trying to help you and others out with accurate options and am only replying as part of this "discussion" we are having. i was refuting your method by providing my arguements. it appears that i may have crossed some threshold with you so i will no longer continue. my only goal was to debate and discuss but it appears that it has gotten personal with you.

not expecting and don't want a response but do you think you really are that good? doubtful...

you called me a smartass so i had to say my piece, argue my points and now am done.

cheers,
carlos

**no one really cares anyway cuz it appears only you and i are discussing everyone is in the turbo forum anyway, no opinions in the 996 forum, it appears **

Thumbs down

Carlos,

don't care to respond to your arguments.... cause you just don't get it dude...

if you have the brains to remember our argument we were trying to measure performance mods by doing a run in one gear... hence eliminating variables such as launching and shifting... you have clearly reverted back your original hypothesis by showing me a product and a series of tests that clearly don't do that and introduce all kinds of variables into the testing paradigm

and by the way the product you "have" doesn't do speed interval times like 60-100... (starting at 60 that is... that's the whole test... and I asked you if it can thinking you know cause "you have it" but you still don't get it... communication communication)

100mph is irresponsible.... dude... where do you pull this out of... your driving a Pcar...

so instead of going in circles I'll just stop right here.

you can go back and read the threads and see how you earned the smartass label...

and yes I am that good... and I have the stopwatch to prove it!!

you already have the same torque as your buddy's c2 only your car is heavier because its a C4 AND its a cab. you car is ~300lbs heavier. 3263 lbs (C4 coupe)-2966 lbs (C2 coupe) = 297 lbs.

4K is a lot! you can do the same w/fabspeed parts for around 2.5K. if you are after more torque look to a supercharger. you will get gains in HP after 4000 rpm with headers, cats, intake and giac flash but the exhaust mods can soften up the low end. it all depends on your driving style. if you like to revv it then these mods will help but if like race off the line down low then you will be wasting your money. on the track is where these mods really show itself to be beneficial.
