On route 80 today in NJ in traffic, I was standing still in the right lane, I got clipped by an 18 wheeler who misjudged. The M#*&^$*f&#$&%er said he didn't do it even though I picked up my bumperette from the accident site right next to his truck. He wanted to leave.

This idoit refused to give me his info. Luckly I blocked him leaving and got a cop car to the site from an accident about 200 feet away(that's why the traffic). I tracked down the trucking company and reported it to their propery damage department, and now I have to wait for the accident report. The cop said if was fairly obvious he clipped me.

Damage total about $1000 bucks if they don't find anything undeneath.

Yep, angers me whenever people don't own up to their own actions!

Yep, so now I really want to have it put on his record. He's from Iowa, does anyone know how to do that....

Man, that sucks! I would count myself blessed that was all that the truck did. I once watched a 80K pound semi full of tomatoes miss me by 15 feet as he rolled it over off a offramp. Scared the living #)%(* out of me. Good luck ...

You're lucky. The bumper cover can be repaired and if the bumperette structure is shock absorbed, you may just need a new bumperette cover.

The truck must have bumped to you lightly. Let's hope thing else is damaged. Check your suspension, exhaust and engine for any damage too. The insurance co should take care of you and deal w the trucking company.

Sorry about the bumperette. Glad it wasn't any worse. The title of the thread scared me.

Yep, he didn't even touch the rubber part of the bumperette structure. If I would have had the old style rubber ones, I would have had a lot of damage. As it stands it looks like the bumper cover just needs to be re-finished and the bumperette cover needs to be replaced. There is a plastic retaining ring behind the bumperettes that may need replacing but for now they don't think so.

Nope, no aftermarket bumper. I just need a bumperette cover and a respray of the whole thing. What sucks is I have to lay out the cash to get this fixed until the traffic report from the Police is ready in 2 weeks.
