996 suspension and Pss9
996 suspension and Pss9
Does anyone really know what the spring rates are for the bilstein Pss9 kit, I have heard they are softer than stock which would be around 150 front and 200 rear, and a bilstein sales guy told me there are 260 front and 515 rear. The ratio of what the bilstein rep gave me sounds wrong as it is around .55 whereas the stock car ratio of front to rear is about .75. Note - the GT-3 ratio of front to rear springs is .75 as well with 285 lbs front and 385 lbs rear.
Pss9
I am referring to the US PSS9 kit. Note - According to Bilstein for a 996 non turbo there is only one PSS9 kit that is the same for US and Europe. According to FVD, they only sell the stock PSS9 for the 996 C2. Note - in the case of the 996 turbo, the FVD PSS9 kit is custom valved and sprung...don't know why they did not make one for the non-turbo.
Thanks,
V

Vman is correct (Hi by the way, I spoke with you on the phone
). For the 996 N/A there is just one PSS9 kit...
As for why FVD didn't make their own... We felt it was done fine which is why we did not have our own made
. The 996TT on the other hand we felt could be improved, so that is what we did

I don't want to name names, but the guy who says he can do it without a big deal is pretty active on the forum, hopefully he will jump in here, as it could be more business for FVD and him.
