19 inch Avant Garde

I recently purchased a set of Avant Garde rims with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Im running into a problem with the front tires rubbing when I turn the wheel. The back tires and rims seem to be fine for now. The dimensions are: AVANT GARDE RUGER MESH 19X8.5 with 245/35/19 tires in the front and 19X11 5X130 with 295/30/19 in the rear. Does anyone have these rims and tires and faced the same issue? If so what are your suggestions or recommended enhancements I can make to improve this situation.

This is how it looks on the car as of now. The rears do stick out half an inch is that going to be an issue.

You really need to find out the offsets of the wheels first. The wheels and tires that you're using are larger (and wider) than the Porsche recommendations. I'm not saying that it's impossible to eliminate the rubbing issue, but I don't know that. You may be able to correct it with spacers or a different tire size. Are you running a stock suspension?

spacers will make them stick out even more than it already is from the look at the pics.or my eyes are playing tricks on me...you probably need smaller size tires...like others said, check the offset...maybe it's made for widebody like the C4S or turbo

The widest tire that Porsche recommends for the front of the 996 is 225, on an 8" width wheel. The recommended offset up front is 50mm. They don't recommend a 19" diameter wheel at all, so I don't know what to tell you on tire profile.

A 5 mm spacer in the front may solve your issue. A smaller tire may solve your issue.

The lowest size these rims come in are 19X8.5 front so the 225 wont even fit on the rim. I could put a spacer on but that might make the tire push out and might risk the fender to rub on the tire. That will also require me to roll the fender for the front. Im still debating if i should keep these or get rid of them. I just bought them a week ago.

Where did you buy the wheels? Did the seller tell you that they would fit without rubbing issues? If so, then you may have some recourse there. Additionally, the seller may have advice on spacers or other solutions.

they make these in 18" now . would be a better fit . if you lower the car it would look a lot better .

I bought it from Need 4 Speed Motorsports, i found them on this forum. They have advised me that the wheels will fit on the car with no issues and i have also seen many pictures with other 996 that have them on. These rims are actually tailored for porsche but for the 996 it seemed to cause an issue. I received the shipment less than a week ago and got them installed the very next day.

A 285 rear tire would be a better choice . if only the fronts are rubbing the fender liners you can push the liner brackets in a little for some clearance . this worked for my boxster .

Were you able to take sharp turns and U turns property? Also what kind of rims and what size tires do you have on them.

I've installed Victor Equipment wheels on my 99 C2.

The sizes are: 19x8 (fr) offset 45 w/ 225/35x19
19x11 (rr) offset 55 w/ 295/30x19

I had to roll the fenders but have no problem with turning.

A larger number offset on the rears, ie: 60+, and I wouldn't have had to roll the fenders. Victor Equipment doesn't offer a choice of offsets.
