advices on emulators!

My 2003 targa 996 came with the catalitics removed, therefore the check engine light is on. The computer is tune but I don't know by who. I was advised to install an emulador in the secondary sensors to avoid the light been on and because with the bad signal been sent to the computer the car would be using more fuel, underperforming and releasing more carbon dioxide than what it's supposed to.
I never heard this before, then again I am nothing close to a mechanic.
Any ideas? Could anybody recommend an emulator?
Thanks

02 spacers is what you want. You'll want 2 of these in stainless steel. Unbolt the downstream 02s and connect the spacers onto them and bolt them into the exhaust pipes. You can get 2 of them for 20-30 bucks shipped...

How does this "trick" the car? If you want to run no cats and trick the car into thinking it has them, how does spacing out the 02 sensors keep the car from throwing a CEL or going into limp?

It has to do with the "space" the O2 sensors are reading 2 different levels and that is what keeps the light off. The first reads regular and the second (which would have been after the cats) reads a lessor level due to the spacer.

Just looked into getting a few of the sensors, pretty awesome that something that simple can fix removing the cats. Thanks for the heads up.

Note some ecu's are more finicky than others so spacers may or may not work in a cat bypass situation. But the cash outlay is minimum so low risk and not too much to lose.
