To blackout or not to blackout?

that is the question. My C2 came with Turbo satin wheels, which I'm not so thrilled about. I've been eyeing my husband's matte black Turbo kicks instead and planning to change the color of my calipers to (Audi) R8 blue. BUT I don't see as many blacked out cars there. Is the look dead? Or is it the fact that I've moved out to the burbs and just not seeing them?

In case you're wondering- he's not a fan of black and looking for yellow trims for his car. I'm not stealing parts from his car.... though the CF is tempting J/K

i vote no. sell your turbo wheels to a 993 owner and get some sport design or other wheels for your c2. would his turbo offsets work on your nb?

Where in NJ are you? I can Plastidip your wheels matte black to see if you like the look. It will last as long as you want it,and if you don't like it you can just peel it off.

Here is a photo of my car before and after the plastidip. Gives it a more aggressive look for sure.

Good idea. But I would keep the stocks for winter or extra set. He also suggested sport wheels which is growing on me.

Happy to see Philly & NJ approve!

JSavinoJr- In Moorestown. Are you in S or N Jersey? I'm liking the look a lot and appreciate the economical approach. Where do you get this done?

Do it....as you can see, I am a big fan!!! By the way, I plasti-dipped mine. Great results. I have had many compliments. "Nice wheels - is that some kind of powder coat?" "No, it is plasti-dip...7$ a wheel....did it in my driveway." Then I get the somewhat disapproving look from some Porsche owners....but, I don't care what anyone else thinks. I love the way my car looks.

Dip the wheels, if you don't like it, just reverse the process.

All the best,
Ray

Thanks, Ray. I looked at the price for powder coating before getting the turbo but now I have two money pits! Did the disapproving looks come after telling them? Or did they pick up on it themselves?

Either way, I'm game to try it out. Maybe even try different finishes.

I vote go for it! I have the turbo twists on an Artic Silver cat with red calipers and was thinking of it as well.

Do it! Heck, if you don't like it you can take it off.

Morning!
Do you have side view pics? Wait I'm sorry, did you mean you were thinking of blacking out as well? I misread thinking you did already.

I vote plasti-dip of you're looking to do a matte black and not 100% sure if you'll like it or keep it.

About $15/can x4 at local pep boys to do all wheels conservatively DIY
