Front brake lockup on 4S
Has anyone had this issue? and how did you resolve?
I have a 996 C4S, just doing a usual drive and turning left, the right front wheel seems like it wanted to lock up or did. I wasn't pushing the car hard at all. Could have been doing 20mph quicker around the turn. I haven't had this issue at all before. No lights came on, on the dash.
Doing a little old research I did see some possible things it could be. I did just take off my track tires/wheels combo and put my street tires/wheels combo on. The rears of my street tires are new but not the fronts. Although the fronts are in like new condition. The rears are not the same exact tire, but the same size.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Mixing tire brands can cause many issues, and something like this could be one of them. Even though they are the same size, there are differences between manufacturers.
I've heard of bad wheel speed sensors causing similar issues.

Different tire could be the problem, but it could have been the PSM overreacting, on the C4S it feels different because of the all wheel drive system because it moves power around with the transaxle not just the brakes as is on a C2.

Tire pressure/new tires
I had the same issue when I bought two front new tires. This exact thing happened to me after buying new tires. I was told the PSM was engaging which only happened on off ramps. Not really pushing it at all. I turned off the PSM for about a month and no issues. After a month I turned the PSM on and it never has happened since. I recently got new shoes and tires for my ride (19) and everything is perfect. Rusnak said when you switch out just 2 tires this might happen with the 4S. Hope that helps.

Either way, driving a car with the front end grabbing is not safe. The way to resolve it is to have it checked at your dealer and fixed as necessary.

Thanks for all the feedback. I haven't had a chance to drive it much lately so I haven't seen if its still happening. From what I have read, I think the 2 different tire compounds is probably the reason behind it. Guess new fronts is in order! Thanks again!!
