Talking 996 Trim Rings down in Aus

Purchased these rings that most people have seen before, from Eric at Bumperplugs.com - Thanks Eric

These are great - if anyone does not have a set (and you like a few aluminium highlights in the interior of your 996/986) these are a must.

The recent batch that Eric is selling has a great brushed alluminium finish and all they require is a small amount of adhesive to fit....

Now all I need is my new 996 which has yet to arrive......maybe this Friday or Early next week my dealer says Hmmm...

Costas

Note that I have no affiliation with bumperplugs...blah blah blah....I just received nothing but great service from Eric

Hi Costas

Man alive, you bought the rings before the car arrived, just think when the car arrives ?

I beleive silicon will hold the rings in place without damaging the either surfaces. You can do a search on the forum someone has posted fitting these before, I'm sure.

Good luck with the car, post some pic's when the car arrives, with rings naturally.

Hardwaykao - Cost was around the US$130 - contact Eric at bumperplugs.com to verify...

Colin - The rings are cheap compared to the car, can only afford these at this stage

Actually I have a complete X74 suspension kit sitting in my home which I purchased from Gert at Carnewal - this is getting fitted to the vehicle as well - I could not order this option from the factory as here in Australia the X74 kit is deemed illegal (too low), but my dealer is fitting it and it will be covered under factory warranty etc.

One other thing Colin -

"Sunny England" isn't that a paradox

Ha,

I've been waiting for that one, since post one.

Bad move, I was in your Sunny Country, from the 1-17th October only last month and guess what, I packed shorts and t-shirts. It just rained, was cloudy for most of the time and one day there was ice n the windscreen of the car.

I really enjoyed Australia, but the weather sucked. Back in the UK it was really good weather, like the Summer we had.

Is it always like that ??

Ahh I see it was your fault

Nah, you probably just copped a bit of poor weather that time round.

Our Summer starts to pick up around Novemberish - So October on average should of been OK, but you can never bank on it though.

I reside in South Australia which is quite dry in Summer (Todays temp was 36C) - Towards the North eg. Queensland, Northern Terriitory etc is/can be very tropical/humid and during Nov - March is the wet season - Warm to hot but always guaranteed to pour with rain in the afternoon.

Cheers

Costas

I was in Sydney and it was bloody cold. I really liked what I saw.

I saw petrol stations selling ice which was odd, so I guessed it was slightly warmer at certain times.

It's a big old country you have over there.

Ordered some trim rings and door plug from eric, although he said it'll take 2-3 weeks for the door plug since he does not have it on stock. Can't wait to see how it looks on the gauges.

Yup - Has its advantage and disadvantes - I suppose just like any other place you are used to.

A few years ago my cousin visited from Germany and we had been on few drives which I would have called short, these were around 100 - 150Km long.

He then commented that after travelling 100+ Km on a particular day, he was suprised that we had not passed through any major cities

He did not realise how great of an expanse we had between major cities until we got home and I sat him down in front of an Atlas and showed him the major cities in Australia and the distances between them.

citybyyhebay - do a search on the archives I'm sure I have seen a post or two including pix of the rings on other peoples guages....
