Attempt at First Pics!
Attempt at First Pics!
Okay, here we go (hopefully).
1999 Carrera 2 Cab, aero kit, Fabspeed exhaust, clear side markers, XM, 18s, 34k miles. The license plate has followed me from a C5 Corvette to an Infiniti G35 Coupe to an Acura NSX to this - now it makes sense!

Sorry for the lame attempt at posting pics - I was using Imagestation, and apparently they don't allow linking, even though it sometimes works. What's weird is the pictures show up when I view the thread, but most of you can't see them. I'll try again using another picture hosting site.

SWEET! is that the factory side skirts and bumper? can't tell from the size of the pics.
can you compare and contrast between the NSX and the 996?

The NSX was, like most Japanese cars, extremely reliable and almost maintenance free. The build quality was exceptional, the ergonomics are the best I've ever seen in a sports car, and the interior was top notch. Driving it was always fun, but it had a different sensation due to the mid engine design. It felt like I was the pivot point and the car rotated around me. That said, I never tracked it, and I don't drive my cars very hard, so I can't speak to the handling on the edge.
I love my 911, mostly because I grew up dreaming about it. I still think the 996 design is absolutely beautiful, and I love everything about the shape. The steering definitely feels more "nose-light" to me, due to the weight bias from a rear engine layout, but it just took some getting used to.
Two great cars, two different sensory experiences. I hate it when owners from either group (NSX or Porsche) rag on the opposite car, because they are both very worthy works of art. I appreciate them both, along with many other great designs. Isn't that what being a car enthusiast is all about?
