solid CEL on 99 996 C4.....
Ok....just got my first CEL on my 996 C4....It came a day after the 15K service on my new engine, so I am suspecting its something they did at the dealer....Its still under warranty so I'll take it back in the morning and see whats going on. The car drives perfectly, no power loss, sounds fine, all gauges look good. Is there a problem with driving it to the dealer?
Oops my mistake... Got it backwards
Flashing CEL= STOP and call AAA,
Solid CEL= Emissions problem. (Gas cap, MAF, Oil dipstick, or somethingelse is loose...)
Sorry I jumped the gun there. Tee hee hee

This is very common on the 99 996 C4 after a 15K service. The technician probably forgot to run the re-adaption lubrication sequence on the dual-mass syncro-rectalverter.
This is always be done by the service tech after the 15K walletlighter process.
The way to properly avoid this in the future is to learn the dark art of self-directed oil changing.
And let me guess, you must have paid at least $500 for this adventure?
