i think it's fair but maybe slight on the high side. i tried to sell my 2002 C4S few months ago, i guess due to bordom. i only have 15k miles at that time and the car has porsche certified warranty til 2008. i got a lot of calls and everyone wanted to come see the car. but most were only willing to pay 60k for the car.

i am not sure what options comes with the car you are looking at. but i think it should be slightly lower than 60k, especially with the milage. but again, if it's the perfect car, who cars about few thousands!

Any dealer should be able to do a PPI ok since it's a standard checklist...

Feel like a newbie with all these purchasing questions

What else should I have them do besides a standard PPI for a car with 35k miles? I did ask for a stage II over rev test.

see if you can get some service records. you want to make sure the 30k service was done, or else you will have to put out some cash for it after buying the car.

i don't think it sounds too good. my 02 only has 16k miles now with extended warranty til 08. like i said, i am only able to get 60k for it. it passed the PPI with flying colors (i am told).
so mayabe you should look around more.

forgot to ask, is the car still under original warranty?

Yeah, if it's under warranty why is the RMS still leaking and not fixed? Sounds like this is sold at a Porsche dealer which should already addressed the oil leak. If it's a generic warranty, I'd not count on it covering RMS. Either way, I'd walk away.

i would agree with keep looking. there are good ones out there if you are patient. i waited 6 months to find mine, and definitely worth the wait.

good luck.

I'm actually in the same position. I'm looking for a white 996 C4S. Prices have been dropping, but will really drop when the 997 C4S cars become fully available. They are just hitting the dealers now.

As of last week, high mileage (>20K) 02 cars were selling for 55-60k with newer models selling higher all the way up to 85K+ for an 04 with low miles. All this, however, was before any dealers received the 997 C4S cars. This is the first week of deliveries so availability is still limited and only a few dealers have them on the showroom so the 996 C4S still gets the premium. I expect a 5-10k drop across the board for the 996 C4S in about 2-3 months when you can walk into most dealers and pick up a 997 C4S off the lot. I think the sweet spot of the 996 C4S will be in the 50-55k range for a well optioned, low mileage 03 car.
