Cab owners, anyone clear their water drains?

I guess this question could be asked of Targa and Sunroof owners as well. Has anyone cleared their water drains? I was recently at my indy and he mentioned about doing that as well as cleaning the radiators. I've done the front radiators and now looking forward to my next DIY project. As far as I've read I need to put the convertible top in the service position, and take the rear wheels off and wheel liners to get to the rear drains. Not sure about the front drains. Any advise appreciated. Thanks

Hey Bernard, I did the drain cleaning last summer, takes an afternoon. Google 996 cabriolet drains or look on renntech.org for details. Several of my drains were completely plugged but easily cleaned, check for open drain with running water. For the drains in the farthest rear the top must be in the service position. The drains in front of the rear wheel are accessed behind the rear speakers. Test the drain with water before removing rear wheels and liners. If the water flows out the bottom edge of the liner, you're good to go. Good luck with this pretty easy, but essential DIY project.

Just an FYI for all....even the hardtops have drains that need to be cleaned. If you don't water could back up into the cabin floor.
