The 15K service is just an oil change and pollen filter change, with some cursory inspections thrown in.

The simple solution is to change your oil yourself. 9 qts of oil at $3.99 + $10 for the oil filter and drain plug crush washer, and about an hour of your time.

Here are the instructions on how to do it.

Here are the instructions for changing the pollen filter

Then inspect your car and make sure that it still has tires and doors etc.

Here are the inspection checklist items

If the Red CEL light is not on, then your engine's electronics are fine, so you don't need to hook it to a computer.

But if you are too cool or important to do your own oil change, then pay the toll. If not, then get yourself a nice holiday present with the money you just saved.

Too expensive, just had my 15k service done for less than $500.....You can do 3 things....

1. Pay the money at that dealer because you trust them to do a good job and you want to build a good relationship with them, which isnt a bad idea with these cars....

2. Call other local dealers and see what they charge. You will find one cheaper and ask your local dealer to match the price.

3. Take it to another dealer and build a relationship with them for all your service needs.

Don't pay that price for that service. Don't pay over $500. Don't worry about your relationship with your dealer if they're willing to bend you over like that. Find an independent shop near you, and start sending them all your non-warranty work. Orient's idea is the best solution if you've got the time.

Time to get out of that abusive relationship.

Time? My son and I did the 996TT and the Boxster in 45 minutes.
That includes going thru the checklist supplied by O-Express. Porsches are a whole lot of fun when you do your own work.

thanks a lot for your responses, I will do it myself. I was just worried about the warranty but i guess if I do it myself that will not void the warranty.

I just had mine done at Schneider and Nelson yesterday for around $500 with tax, but that included about 80 bucks in a software upgrade charge for my PCM2, which was put in post sales so it's not covered under warranty.

So I guess around what Arnie paid for my 03 C2 if you only include the 15k service part.
