After driving this car for a little over two years with no issues, I was driving to work yesterday doing about 40 mph, shifted from third to fourth which was met with a very noticeable bang sound and no power to the wheels. Luckily got into a parking lot, had it towed to the shop where it sat overnight. The horror stories of the transmission issues began to run through my mind. Damn!
Imagine my relief when I get the call today that whoever did the clutch for the previous owner did not torque the bolts back down tightly and the axle had come off on one side. Total damage including tow was under $300.
My thanks to Evans Auto Care here in Cincy for their quick, honest, and competent work!

Had the same thing happen to me with my 930 years ago. Let my wife drive the car with me in the passenger seat. Just came off the highway where we were in excess of 100 mph. Right driveshaft let go at the wheel side less than a block from our driveway at about 5 mph. All the bolts backed out...damage restricted to running an 8mm tap through the holes and torqueing to spec with 242 Loctite. Considered myself extremely lucky.
