My seats are starting to rip as you can see the leather needs to be replaced.
I can get seat covers in leather both seats, but they are just the covers.
I have a question for the ones that have done this before. Have you change the cover your self's or taken it to an upholstery shop?
I'm trying to figure out if its better to get new seats or just refurbish the ones I got in the car. I'm not really entrusted in sports seats, racing seats I find them to be a little hard and stiff. I like the seats a little plush. But if for example refurbishing both seats is going to cost me 2k and new seats are 2500 I might just spring for new seats.
What do you guys think?
Or I can throw a seat cover on it and call it a day. LOL
I sat in mine with a tool in my back pocket and tore the seat. After some severe self name-calling, I found someone selling a driver's seat, and convinced them to ship me just the seat bottom cushion/cover material, keep the rest for the same price - the shipping on the whole seat was high. I think I paid like $250 for the seat bottom. It was not difficult to change. Remove the whole seat, turn it upside down and its pretty obvious how to R&R the seat bottom cover/cushion.
@alabamatory That is exactly what I'm thinking since these cars are so over engineered I'm sure the seats are to. After all it is just the covers that need replacing. Do I need special clips or tools to take the covers off?

Its been about a year, so my memory is a bit foggy, but I don't recall needing any special tools. The only unusual tool was the star wrench to loosen the 4 bolts holding the seat to the floor. There were some special words that had to be spoken in order to get the new seat cover back onto the frame - its tighter than it would appear to be.
