Not Running Good Issue... How To Access Top Of Engine??
I've asked a few questions regarding my non-running-good issue.
I've replaced a fuel pump. Upon replacing that fuel pump & starting the car, there was a loud "Ba-Boom!!" sound that came out of my engine. Now the car runs very funky and has popping sounds coming off the top of the ending. I posted a video of that (in a post below this one).
I think now I've discover what happened when I started up the car immediately after installing the new fuel pump. The "Ba-Boom!!" sound, was inside my intake plenum (or whatever you'd call it).. which in turn seems to have blown my rubber hose and hose clamp off. I can't tell exactly how bad that hose was blown off because of the EXTREMELY bad access or view-ability of that area on the car.
I can barely fit my hand on-top the engine, to attempt to put the hose clamp back in place (and also to make sure the hose is 100% installed correctly again. Then clamp it down so I don't have a vacuum leak or air leak or what-ever you'd call it (that's obviously the culprit behind why my car is running like crap currently).
Has anyone ever dealt with this before? I'd love to also inspect the area and make sure the "Ba-BOOM!!" sound didn't crack anything made of plastic... so I'd have a permanent air leak now.
HOW DO I GT ACESS TO THIS AREA? Heeelllp. ;o)

Probably need to drop the engine a bit from the mounts. An ATV jack with wood is probably a good idea to support it and lower enough to get access.
I sent you PM about a bosch FPR I have for sale.

Just remove the ground strap on the passenger side. Rt. side. Remove the air intake.
jack the car up as high as possible from the engine with a block of wood on the jack. Place jack stands on both rear jacking points. lower the jack to the car rests on the stands. Then remove the two motor mount bolts from the bottom with the jack supporting the engine. slowly let the engine drop while making sure nothing is getting pulled or crushed. You can get to the top of the engine now. I never let it hang. It will not drop all the way down, but keep it supported with the jack. You will have to remove a few sensors and various hoses. Take pictures or mark them. It will not be hard after that. The real question is: Why did it go boom? You must have a clogged pressure valve. Did the dipstick pop out a bit as well?

Probably had something to do with replacing the fuel pump, and turning the key for the 1st time. Maybe I did something wrong for that initial start-up after replacing the fuel pump. ???
That sure is strange, but if she is running fine now, I guess it's no big deal. I would still keep an eye on the codes for a few wks to be sure she stays in good condition. I can't think of why changing the fuel pump could do that, but I'm happy to hear she is running well. Maybe the pop was just the hose popping off? I noticed mine needed a little tightening a few wks ago while working on something else.
