I need to swap my tips out as my powdercoating isn't holding up and it's starting to look really bad. I think the supercharger is putting out a little more heat as the PC'ing held up fine till the SC was installed.

Anyway, while shopping for tips, I noticed that there are 3.4 and 3.6 liter tips.

What is the difference in fit? I'm assuming they can't be interchanged.

 

the 01 and 02 bumpers are not the same as the exhaust cutouts are different and the the 02 bumper comes out farther thereby requiring different tips so that it looks right.

 

are the cutouts in the same location at least?

i'm not really concerned with the shape of the tip matching the cutout on the bumper. i saw some tips that look like the dual tipped turbos but they fit the regular 996. the fitment years were not listed, so i was wondering if they will fit?

 

whatever u buy do not buy the pre-02 tips. like Jeff said it's not long enough so u'll melt the paint on the bumer if not the bumper itself.

these are on ebay. i emailed the seller. it's a porsche dealer. he said they are for an 03 model and that they won't fit and 01 or 02 model. now i'm really confused. aren't 02-04 the same?

 

unless he's confused himself or they're for Turbo otherwise u're correct. 02-04 are the same for C2.

that was weird. your pic didn't come up till after my last post. anyway, the tips look great. guess i need some X54 tips. i saw some knockoffs on ebay for $300. they look pretty good too.
