Has anyone replaced their soft top on their 996 with the one being sold on ebay that has a glass rear window? My top is showing some wear and I like the idea of the glass rear window for security and for a cleaner look. Thoughts?

The original material used for the top is German A5 canvas, such as sold by GAHH. The material in that eBay listing is something else. I would spend a little more and get the OEM material. The choice between glass and plastic is a personal choice. Glass is a few hundred more. I went with plastic because of the much larger window size, but others have gone with the glass.

 

where was the place in Lynbrook where you had your convertible top replaced?
Looking for a place even farther out east if possible for my 2004 Turbo Cab.

I had them replace a piece of the leather drivers seat at another time. They do great work. It's a small shop and they pay a lot of attention to detail. They do a lot of high end cars.
