Longtime BMW enthusiast (9 Ms), I finally decided to cross over and just purchased an 04 C2 six speed after months of searching. 50k miles, clean carfax, clean ppi, new tires, really love driving. I am in PCA (wife has Cayenne so we joined in 2014). Hope to do some autorcrosses.

I’ve recently dipped into Porsche ownership too but in completely the opposite way to what you’ve done. A friend and I had a bet (no money involved) that I could buy the cheapest Porsche 911 in the UK (with a basic criteria of manual, coupe, 2 wheel drive) and run to for a year without breaking the bank.
Did a search and picked the cheapest one, bought without test driving and had it delivered 6,550 pounds. A 1998 996 with 147,000 and a full service history. Using it as my daily car so it’s covered in muck because of the recent rain.
I even started a Youtube channel to document it. So after one year I’ll either be saying “everyone go buy a 911 now” or “we’ll that was a dumb idea”. You can search Anca Guya or “I’ve just bought THE cheapest Porsche 911 in the UK!”, it’s actually quite boring so far but maybe I’ll get some interesting contributors in the future
Still looks good (just a little curb rash. How are the plastics holding up?
Believe it or not, pretty good! Got some minor broken bits (down in front of the back wheel, it must’ve hit something).
Not enough sun over here to make the plastic brittle I guess 😊 And it’s actually filthy because it’s really muddy around where I live at the moment and I am lazy so haven’t washed it apart from the day I got it (it had moss growing on it)

Brittle isn't my problem, its gummy. The top coating (sort of like plasti-dip) has become soft and sticky. I intend to remove the top coating and as for the center console to have it repainted to match the exterior

Im trying to do absolutely everything on a budget...kind of “if it ain’t broke”
I have not done much yet. Replaced the ashtray with the non-smokers bin. I removed the death warnings from the sunvisors and installed new wipers and a new a/c microfilter
