Dark Interior

I have never owned a car with dark interior, ie. black, but I am leaning towards purchasing a 996 with black on black. I have seen so many beautiful cars on this board with black on black I would like some feedback from the owners of how the maintenance of the interior is. I have a black Escalade and it shows everything dust, dirt, finger prints!. I am thinking the interior would be better since you don't have a glossy surface to leave finger prints it should cover up some dust and dirt!

Always thank you for your input.

I only wanted a triple black P and took one that had to many miles and wasn't as clean as I wanted it to be...but it is all good, because I would have been very unhappy with a grey interior! In other words: don't let the sales guys tell your otherwise,,,they everything on me...like: it is cooler in summer..grey is more sophisticated etc..it is all BULL if you want black get it...you are going to be very unhappy otherwise!!

black is pretty easy to maint, if any stain (god forbid), it won't show. The floormat needs to be vacuumed often if you want to keep it spotless -- that's the only thing I can think of.

If you wash your car weekly, it's not an issue. 80% of the cars I've owned have been black including the 3 in my current garage.

Totally agree. Black is hands down the best color for the 996 interior.

OK we all agree black is beautiful! Maintenance is easy...use 303 Aerospace for plastic/vinyl and dashboard. Use Lexol or leatherique for seats and leather trim.

Black interior is best. Black exterior is the most beautiful when clean, the problem is it doesn't stay clean long.
