TPC Supercharger Take II - Cool Pics Inside

Hey guys! First off I wanted to give a BIG thanks to Mike Levitas 24Hour of Daytona winner and TPC winner for all his help to Vivid Racing. Mike has spent the last 3 days here at Vivid Racing setting up our car with their new ECU system. Mike has been around Porsche and really knows his cars compared to the other competition. I have never seen so much support from one vendor to come across country to help out. I can’t even get that locally LOL!

TPC has combined with UNICHIP to offer an amazing Plug and Play solution to your Porsche with or without the Supercharger kit. UniChip has been around for a long time. We used to use them on STI's back in the day. The UniChip and harness plugs into your factory ECU controlling boost, fuel, and timing. The precision of this piggyback system over the reflash truly gave our car a larger advantage. The new TPC ecu gained close to another 30whp. So for us that is almost 140 wheel horsepower gain. Only the TPC kit gets you this.

Now that we are done testing, the driving is awesome! I have been able to just STEP on the gas and go! Unlike the cheaper centrifugal superchargers, this roots style system makes boost at low RPM and is consistent through out. Centrifugal superchargers build boost at a scale, so in low RPM's you might only get 1-3 lbs as it builds up.

During driving, our EGT's were right around 1200F and the boost a consistent 6lbs. We made almost a flat and perfect 11.3 air fuel ratio throughout the entire power band.

Another addition to my car is this custom Gauge panel with Autometer Nexus gauges, and Valentine setup. The 2 switches are for our Laser Jammers and our Reverse Camera. We are leaving tomorrow May 4 to head to run the US leg of Gumball 3000 so the car is decked out!

If you have not seen our previous info on the TPC Supercharger install, go here -

If your seriously interested in the TPC Supercharger kit, contact me for pricing, install, and transportation. This kit is priced well below the competition as well!

Here are some pics! Enjoy!

have you been datalogging or just pulling peak hold numbers off your gauges?

what is your AF at idle, cruising, and WOT?

what is your EGT at idle, cruising, and WOT?

where are you measuring your AF and EGT?

how soon are you making the full 6psi of boost and do you maintain the 6psi all the way to redline?

one thing i'm not clear on... you gained 30HP on the TPC kit by dropping the TPC piggyback and adding the Unichip piggyback?

When you said the Unichip had more precision to the reflash, which reflash were you referring to? It was my understanding that the TPC kit did not do any sort of reflashing of the ECU and relied totally on the TPC piggyback ECU and the 7th injector.

Email mitch@vividracing.com for datalog info. He is our tuner.

6psi at 2000 RPM and goes to REDLINE.

Sorry...TPC has a BASIC Fuel Controller before. The new kits come with the custom TPC/UNICHIP plug and play piggyback. This controls boost, fuel, and timing.

If you use the UNICHIP on a NA car, it can give you more performance and control instead of a REFLASH was my point.

6psi at 2000rpm? i gotta see this datalog info... impressive if it's true. actually, with a roots type blower it would not seem out of the ordinary. why not post the data so all can see?

how many hours for install?

After reading your post, the write up on the vivid racing site, and TPC's site, I did not see any referenced to C4S's. Is this kit available for C4S's? I see a reference to 2 3.6l dynos. Please clarify.

Thanks.

can you post more details regarding your datalogging?
i would be curious to know more about your AF ratios and EGT's at idle, cruising, and wide open throttle.

could you take a screen shot of your datalog info and post it? i would like to see the boost curve with the roots charger.

what are your thought on the noise of the roots charger? is it liveable on a day to day basis? i rode in a TPC'd car once. I thought the sound was pretty cool. Just not sure how I would feel about in a month or two. It's pretty noisy. Kind of reminded me of the mad max movies

Big Gay Al: couldn't resist the south park reference the C4S is the same as all the other cars with regards to these kits. so yes, you can use it on your car. your wide body, turbo brakes, and AWD have no bearing on the installation of the kit, other than a 20% drivetrain HP loss vs the 15% of the rear wheel cars.

Lol. I figured as much when I saw the 3.6l reference but I wanted to be sure. I am interested in this SC. I have nothing against the centif SC's, but I had a MY04 S2000 and the centif's only made a difference in the high rev range(short lived power). I would like some quick/immediate torque this time around. Is anyone other than vivid running this charger? I would like to hear from others especially those who have driven the evom charged cars and the TPC charged car. Anyone?

rover ron is the only other guy i knew that had one. he had a CEL, but other than that, i don't think he had any problems.

i've been in both the evom and the tpc SC'd cars. the TPC has a lot more bottom end.

however, on the flip side it's A LOT noisier and the tuning/fuel delivery isn't quite up to par compared with the EVO. that may be different now with the Unichip piggy back. i'm not sure how the two will work together and if the factory safety mechanisms will remain as they do with the evo/giac programming.

evo uses new larger injectors. TPC uses a 7th injector to dump extra fuel into all the lines when necessary. i don't know if this is true or not, but my research indicated that you may end up with overly rich inside cyliders and slightly leaner outside cylinders due to the uneven fuel pressure once it splits in the lines. can't prove it. i was just told it was a possibility.

the TPC kit is very very fast though and the guys at TPC are very nice on the phone.

i would look to see full datalogging and dyno/AF/boost curves before purchasing.
