Amp Install Pics

I thought I'd post some pics of the new amp mount. I got my brother to weld up some aluminum pieces and bolted it up in place of the stock amp. No new holes in the body and reused much of the mounting points for the stock amp. I'm using a JL Audio 300/4 to drive a set of Focal components up front and a pair of Boston Acoustics in the back for fill. The next trick is going to be mounting my JL 250/1 somewhere ... It will probably end up going perpendicular to the 300/4 on the passenger side.

Doc, sandals (Rainbows ) are part of the "uniform" for Southern summers. I was actually sitting in the trunk while I was working on things and left 'em in there when I got out to take a couple pics.

Neil, I did the speakers already. Running Focal components up front ( you can see the cross-overs sitting loose next to the amp ) and Boston Acoustics in the back for fill. Reused the factory locations as best I could. Finally have them tuned to about perfect. Once I get a sub solution figured out, I'll be able to 'finish'. I'd love to see pics of your 8/10 solution.

thats awesome! do you have separate tweeters for the components? I'd like to see how you run wires and mount them. I have some kappa perfect 5.1's to still hook up!

Amp brand questions.....

nice job....How do you like the JL Audio amps? Did you compare any others? Do you know anything about the Polk Momo?

JL amps and focal components make a suitable combo for most enthusiasts who appreciate good quality hardware and clarity throughout (I run 250x1 into JL 10" and 300/4 for focal components)... anything more is overkill IMO unless you have money to burn or want to enter a competition...

I actually reused the factory twisted pair wires to get to the speaker locations. Yes, I know, you could increase the fidelity somewhat by running high end wires but given the return on investment in $$ and time it did not seem worth the hassle. I have been very happy with the results. I have very clear sound where I can pick out individual instruments with ease. Plus I wasn't spending hours fishing wires back through the firewall and then through to the doors and also back to the back seat/b-pillar area.
