need a mod list

been following the list for a month or so, but it seems to lack any clear direction as to any mods one might want to do.
so here's my question;
i have a 2000 996 with 13k miles on it. as i am comoing from an 87 carrera, i need to make this car a bit more of a real sportscar.
so far i've added ghl mufflers ( helped a bit ) but would like the exhaust a bit louder; i have the pss9's on the shelf waiting to be installed.
what else should i consider that really works?
not looking to create a track car, already have one, but just to tighen things up a bit and a bit more oomph!

I would try some sort of software upgrade (flash) and intake with BMC filter, suncoast headers, some lightweight wheels, GT3 sway bars, Lightweight flywheel & sport clutch, Short shift kit, hi-flow cats and put it on a diet.

just the kitchen sink!
actually, i wasn't looking to do that much.
what i was after is, which of the "cold air intakes" works?
how about sway bars to go with the pss9's.
when you guys say "flash" does that mean re-programming the computer?

I'm doing the evo intake soon, have heard it and feel a little bit of HP gain.
But some people only recommend using paper filter , not the oiled ones due to MAF failures, can anyone confirm this?
You can go with GIAC flash with the switcher , so you can switch back and fort to stock.. works great with exhaust and cold air intake..
For sway bar I think u can use the after market HR or the sway bar from the X74 or GT3 suspension,,cheers

I am not familiar with which intake works best. There are a few threads on this modification.
GT3 sways will be more than enough for you with the Bilsteins. A buddy of mine has that some set up in his 02 996 (Pss9's and GT3 bars) and it handles great.
Yes, a flash is a ECU re-map. Contact some of the board sponsors on the right and see what they can put together for you depending on your needs/wants. Keep us posted.

I found that the Fabspeed Cold Air Kit and BMC F1 Air Filter combo truly made a big difference over stock; with the BMC F1 Air Filter making most of that improvement.

I've ordered up the mods in my signature from Sharkwerks. Aside from brakes, I think this will address most everything I need.

I def think a chip will help too. Go to vividracing.com and check out the upsolute tuning chip. They are pretty good too. Says they chip add 22 hp and 15 lb/ft of tq! Check it out, only $700! The powerchip on there says it adds up to 17 hp and 15 lb/ft of tq and $970. I think headers and 200 cells cats(because 100 cell cats are said to set of CEL) would def add to your exhaust and give a little louder note. As far as anything else, lightweight wheels and possibly short shifter would finish everything off.

What Luis said........he's on the money!

AND a set (or two) of wheels. You need the right rubber for the situation as you need to wear the right shoes for the sport you play!

PS - I run Fabspeed catbypass pipes and no CEL ever.
