Made the mistake of driving a TT today!!

My friend Justin and I met Rob (996) today. We had a nice lunch, talked Porsche's for a few hours and then I remembered my dealer wanting me to come drive a used TT they had in stock..
So the 3 of us went down there and they pulled it off the showroom for us. He gives us some certificates to gas it up and hands us the Dealer Plates and keys!!! HOLY ****!!! Justin wet his pants Rob's knees are still shaking, and I am calling my accountant tomorrow morning Funny story... So were on the freeway and I see a open stretch, down shift to 3rd punch it, we all smile, run through the gears hitting 6500 each time.. Justin ask's how fast are you going.. ok now remember I have a 99 and the Digital Speedo is nice and big right in the middle cluster.. so I look down and it says 115 but Im still accelerating and its not moving... hmm so then I recall the digital speedo was moved the left side, glance over to that one and its now 138 and climbing.. Another Holy ****!! and then I backoff the gas.. I was reading the center average MPH at 115, it was just reset obviously.. Wow what a car.. The power is amazing, it just keeps on pulling in any gear.. Im very impressed to say the least!! OK what's my cab worth now?

Kevin

Good post!

I had a Boxster S when I first test drove a Turbo, and I couldn't drive the Boxster for about two weeks after the test drive. All I could think about was that "pull" from the Turbo.

It's dangerous to test drive sometimes...dangerous on your wallet.

It's also good to know where the digital speed is displayed

Smile

WARNING! Do not drive one unless you are ready to buy! You know that feeling you get in your thighs after having sex...This car will give you that same sensation (Hey, What's that stuff in my pants). Kevin, after his drive had a head rush, either from the acceleration or after he put the brakes to the test, we'll never know. Justin, after his drive, broke out in a sweat and it was 60 degrees out and all our faces have a permanent smiles! Let me thank both of you again for such a wonderful day and a special thanks to you Kevin, I have wanted to drive a turbo since I was a little kid and was not disappointed, in fact this car surpassed all my expectations. See you guys on the track in Bakersfield, sigh, in our 996's.

Kev- thats what happened to me the first time I drove a TT - sold the grey cab and went right to the TT - If you can stomach the price a TT cab is for sure in your future

Awesome commentary Kevin!! Don't get rid of that gorgeous Cab before I get to see it man!!

Hey...what track are you guys going to in Bako? Buttonwillow? And when? I am planning on April, but if I can get out there earlier, I'd like to.
