tonight on the way home i noticed a xenon light car behind me that looked like a p-car. we would romp as soon as traffic broke each time and each time i would pull away. when i pulled over to make my turn, i expected to see a 996. but to my surprise, it was a 996 TT! from a stand still, the 996TT should eat me up owing to a much higher % of total power (which is about the same as mine) available from a much lower % of power curve than my car (though i have a higher redline). however, on the highway when i'm at 4.5K or higher, one would expect the results tonight (dyno below). i'm betting he's pretty surprised!

re: the mistress, i finally saw her (CGT) in the flesh at the LA auto show today in basalt black. oh what a beautiful machine!

don't know why he would play if he wasn't going to play. you'd think if he was playing, but not max perfoming it, he would in the next couple runs after the c2 cab had pulled on him in the first. no idea re: tip/6 spd.

 

While I don't know how that guy was driving his car, I can tell you that I hang out behind cars (like 911s) that are obviously getting on it, just to watch the other car...basically staying with them but not maintaining WOT for very long and not shifting at redline.

yep, he could have been. that said, my power from 4.5k up (where i was throughout the all the stretches) relative to his combined with my 250 lb weight advantage should produce these sort of results on the highway. iow, i should pull slightly on a stocker coupe. anyway, it's just kind of fun surprising, but i've not been in a position to tell the other p-cars i've played with what's going on and i wish i could so they don't think something is wrong.

 

I can understand that. After a run with you, I can imagine some of these guys calling the dealer for an appointment to see why they aren't making the advertised power.

Maybe a nice, small hand held sign you can hold up that says "SC'ed"...
