Does the water that a Gt2 Wing allow in affect the engine?

I just picked up a 2002 targa in silver. I already have started modding as I bought all my parts before I got the car.

My question is about the GT2 wing and engine lid. I put it on the car (test fit) today and had some concerns about water. With all the louvers and the vents in the base it looks like it routes water all over the engine. Is this an issue? I know that the stock engine lid also had vents and louvers but these are so much bigger and look like it would just pour water all over the engine.

I live in florida so it rains often.

Any help would be appreciated.

The only holes i have on the bottom side of my gt2 wing is fan, intake and drain. It looks like most of the water would go out of the drain holes because they are the lowest point. (plus I live in AZ)

Thanks for the reply. \

Those are the same holes I have, its just the vents seem so big that i thought it might let water in. I talked to the manufacturer and they said there are no issues. I guess I am just a little protective of my new car

Actually it’s from Getty Design. It is of course a replica as you are right a real one won’t fit a narrow body. I was very impressed by the fit and finish of it though. It bolted right up and after a minute or two of adjusting the latch it closes perfect.

I also have their carbon fiber hood which fit excellently. We have yet to tackle the front fender replacements and rest of the gt3rsr wide body kit. I am of course just test fitting before it goes off to the body shop for paint.

I am not using the RSR front though; I instead decided to uses the techart typeII front, which they are going to modify to fit the widened front fenders.
