Alright I read the directions on how to switch out the faces. Fantastic directions however it states that the kit should come with a needle puller. Mine didn't anyone know how to get it out without one? Dont want to break it!

 

I would attempt to make one. Some sheet metal and tin snips would do the trick.

 

Any idea what it looks like so i can make it. I feel like McGyver!!

If you haven't already taken the needle off the Volt meter, don't do it! Instead just use a xacto blade and carefully cut away and pull out face w/o removing needle. For some reason the little shaft inside this gauge is easily broken! If this happens you have limited options. Purchase an entire new pod at a cost of @ $1,800!!! Porsche does not just sell the volt gauge. Or other option is Speedo Repair shop may do repair for @$250.
Hear this is common for the volt gauge on a 996 gauge pod. This happened to me and luckily friend had extra volt gauge to swap out.

Got it I did not do the volt meter thank god. Just the Tach. wasn't bad at all the only issue was the needle puller and once I saw what it looked like I improvised. Anyways if I do the other guages I will keep that in mind. Thanks again everyone! On to the next mod.

 

Did you replace the tach only? What color did you change? any pic? Mine yellow tach face is coming and will try to install it next week.

 

Where did you get your yellow tach face. FVD has one but it has GT3 on the plate. I would like to have one without any mode designation
