OT - the new Ford F150
OT - the new Ford F150
bought one of these beasts a couple days ago to replace our pretend truck (the nissan frontier). this AM i had to have my wife follow me to check the speedo. i just could not believe 70 to 95 miles/hr indicated on the speedo was correct. it was, and it's just hard to believe just how smooth the thing is.
Did you look at the nissan titan at all? I am currently looking for another work truck and have narrowed it down to the titan 4x4 and F150 4x4, I am glad you are impressed with the 150, I normally dont test drive these type of vehicles, however it may now be warranted.
the titan is a sweet truck but i found it ugly in the front. the sides, rear and interior of the titan are very nice. service at nissan on our existing truck has been considerably better (couple oil changes and power steering box replacement - 20k miles) than both porsche (14k miles) and bmw (6k miles). in fact, service was so good i felt bad about not buying another nissan.
oh yeah, the titan we looked at was the same price as our decked out 4X4 supercrew lariat but the titan was only 2WD.

ben., i think you'll be very happy w/ the truck. I have 250,000 miles on my f-150 ( 1998) and it still running. only service done to it were, new tires/brakes/oil change and transmission flush.
taking delivery of the F-350 today.

I've had a 2001 F150 super-crew for 2 years and 38K miles with no problems. I went to look at both the new F150 and the Titan and am still undecided.
I like the speed of the Titan and the look and interior of the F150. The F150 weighs almost 6000lbs which is a bit stout. Sticker price wise it would seem the F150 is several thousand more than the Titan but I believe Ford will negotiate more. But they should since the new F150 in Lariat trim is $2-3K more that the previous model.
I'll probably wait for the trucks to lose the 'new' factor and the dealers start trying harder to sell them.

wow, 250k miles in 5 to 6 years!
hey bart, they had a 4X2 titan that was the equivalent of a 4X2 supercrew with both similarly equiped but the titan was same as my 4X4 decked out SC 150. and, like you said ford is dealing. they took off $4k.
hmmm, i just went to edmunds and the top of the line decked out titan is only $37k in 4X4. i wonder why the 4X2 i saw was $37 or $38?

500+HP j/k hope you like the truck, and a good exhaust should get some noise out of it.
