My Weekend Purchase :)

Well after taking the 996 out to Laguna Seca back in May I have had the itch to start racing.. I've spoken to Chad & Jim Plavan who have been a wealth of information! and I decided to find a nice used track ready 911. The costs for building one were more then I wanted to spend so the search for a well put together ready to go car was on!! I found this one from a Dr John Reed who lives in the Encinitas California area. Unfortunately due to illness he was selling all of his toys. This car was build in the early 70s by his father and was actually raced in those days. His father passed away and in sat for several years, John had it completely gone over and a rebuilt 2.7 was put in. I will be racing with VARA which is the same group that Chad (CPLAVAN) and his dad race in. It only needs the fire system installed and some minor tweaking of the carbs and shes good to go!! Thank you John!! It will be well taken care of and put to good use!
....its a 1969!!

Nice. My dad and I restored one of Peter Greggs 1969 911S's when I was a kid. It wasn't a race car but it was as close as you could get for the street. A real blast to drive. Man I got into a lot of trouble in that thing.
