Pagid Orange or Yellows?
It's time to change my brake pads on my 996 C2. I was thinking about the Pagid pads. Does anyone have any feedback to offer to help with my decision? I have always run stock pads and i am searching for pads with a little more bite and less fade. I drive my car on the street mostly. I would say I am a somewhat an aggressive driver, I like to push my cars. I take this car to the track 3-4 times a year. Thanks!
I use Pagid Orange on the track. I ran the Oranges on the street and they made a ton of noise. I now just change pads b/t track and street work - quick and easy. I find that the stock pads work great for the street and never have had them fade in any street situation. I would never pick the stock pads over Orange on the track though - they made a night and day difference. But again, you are pushing the car real hard for 20-30 minutes at a time on the track - something that never happens on the street.
I run Oranges on my 986 for both street and track. They have worked very well for me in both applications. On the street that have good cold stopping power and rarely squeel. On the track they wear very well and have not deteriorated with heat.

In my experience, the Oranges will sqeek off and on. They don't stop well cold so your first few stops of the day need to be done with care. You will also need to be careful coming to a stop after prolonged driving i.e. freeway where you don't touch the brakes. They are very easy to modulate once up to their operating temperature. They are much harder on rotors than stock brake pads. They can leave material on rotors that can make them shudder. Pagid recommends a bedding process that should not be ignored.
Bottom line. I would stick to stock brake pads if you use your car primarily for the street. You simply cannot count on a race brake pad (Orange, Yellow, Black) to stop you quickly and consistently when they are below their designed operating temperature. You simply cannot over tax the stock brake pads on the street. I used the stock brake pads and rotors on the track and experienced brake fade only on one occassion and that was the last session of the weekend on a triple digit day. That's how good the stock 996 system has been designed.

I have the orange pads. I love them on track but find they can be a bit noisey when driving on the streets.... especially when driving through neighborhoods when I drive a block or two between brake applications.
