Resonance!

Hey guys, as prob most of you know from my posts or my signiture, i have a gemballa sports exhaust. I noticed that then driving, i have a slight tinny/vibration on throttle let off from like 2-3K RPM. is this normal on throttle let off? i know mostly you get it when steady in a high gear but this it doing it even a between shifts in this rpm range. my porsche tech says its resonance and so does gemballa NA. do you guys who have aftermarket exhausts get the same prob. i really love the exhaust, it sounds amazing, identical to the tubi on the 997S if youve heard that. Any thoughs or comments would be great.

You will pretty much get resonances at various speeds from most aftermarket systems because none are specifically designed just for your car .
Many are OK and some are worse than others.

You either live with it or you can change to PSE , like I did .

I have not heard the Gemballa exhaust but I have heard other aftermarket systems that are similarly afflicted.

I just installed PSE on my 996. It sounds great, I can turn it off if I want and it has no resonance. Try it.....you'll like it!!

Both. I can hear it when in the car driving and if someone else revs it up and im outside the car i can still hear it. like i said, only btween 2-3 K at throttle let off. not sure about 2-3k rpm in 6th gear though, havnt tried it yet.

I do not experince that at all with the FabSpeed Max Flow - I have had them for over a year now, daily I drive it hard and nothing.

Yea i get it in the 2k-3k range. gemballa says that this is normal. maybe someone from fabspeed or another exhaust manufacturer can elaborate on this. does anyone else have throttle let of resonance?
