mainly because i had just walked out of my garage from doing it and there were a few things that were slightly confusing from reading both writeups...

one article said to just pull the A-pillar cover off and the other said you needed to take the visor down and remove the visor mounting plate. i wanted to clarify that you do need to take that plate off.

second, both articles focus heavily on doing things to the wire, although each article does a different thing. as it was tough to determine which was right, both involved changing the antenna cable in some way.

i was just shooting for the remote to work at a reasonable reliable distance from the car and i got that from taking it out of the mesh shielding. i don't need it to work from 100 feet away.

i took the best of what i read from both articles, combined them, and left out the modifying of the cable as i know a lot of people would be apprehensive about cutting it or soldering more antenna on there. not to mention, it's always nice to have someone on the forum who just did it and can explain it in easy terms and answer questions.

sorry for trying to be helpful

I had the dealer do mine under warranty and went from 2 feet to 3 feet. Kinda makes me wonder whether they really did it.

How did yours turn out?
