Car has only 5k miles. Had noticed very rare slight squeaking before but didn't even think it was my car. Noticed it again tonight and was able to reproduce the sound. From about 30-0 under very mild braking there is a slight high-pitched squeak. Is this something anyone else is experiencing? I just want to get peace of mind by taking it to get overall system checked out as there should be no noises after only 5k?
Any thoughts? TIA

 

have u use any wheel cleaner or take the car to car wash?

My car squeeks as well, I think its normal. My brakes squeal with light pressure but disappear once I apply heavier pressure. My car's been doing this since I got it. Trips to the mechanic didn't show anything that was wrong. Hoped this helped.....

 

Try going fast (40-50mph) then braking hard. I've heard that can get rid of the squeaks. Just make sure no one is behind you...

 

Rust on the rotors is what causes the squeaking, that is why right after washing the car take it out and heat up the brakes so rust can't form. Like Itzkirb said try doing some hard 50-10MPH braking and that should take care of it. But sometimes no madder what Porsche brakes DO squeak.

I guess I wanted to see if minor squeaking was a common thing which dbelle and safety eluded to. I will make sure there is no rust build-up today and hopefully it will go away on its own.

 

This happens to me often now as I refuse to refrain from using tire dressing. I do exactly as above and the heat burns off the chemical that gets on the rotors.

When mine starts to squeal to loud, I take to the autocross and its gone until the next autocross event. Come to think of it, its about time .... luckily there's an event on the 21st. =)

 

My front brakes squeak too. In fact, there is a slight squeaking sound from my front sometimes at 30-40 mph even when I'm not braking. The dealer could not find the cause and suggested that I brake hard every now and then.

 

Mine does the same thing...but after some hard freeway breaking, it'll go away
