B&M Install: Progress Report
B&M Install: Progress Report
ok...took more time to get the **** off than anything else. i'm so nervous about this that i'm scotch-taping the screws to the associated assembly step pictures found in the instructions (pdf download). this is how it has gone so far:
-30=40 minutes to get to step 16. i'm now ready to "mark the cables" prior to pulling them out
-all of the "snap-out" plastic pieces came out nicely. all the screws were easy to find and remove.
-some resistance in pulling off the window elec wires/plugs
-putting seats all the way back and down a must
-i didn't find a "key wire" when pulling out the center consoles..i did find a couple of small wires, but i didn't necessarily have to pull them off of something...is there something wrong here?
will get a good nights rest and start up bright and early tomorrow, saturday.

I made and sell a DVD that shows the install on 4 different cars. We even filmed the install on a Boxster and a 996 at the same time and the run time for both cars is 54 minutes.
There are 3 ways to 'mark' the cables and a 4th way that does not involve marking the cables.
There is a 2 wire alarm connector to the lock for the storage box which I guess you call the key wire. The wires are very short. You must have pulled the console up without removing it and it disconnected itself. No big deal except you can break the alarm switch. Make sure to reconnect it when you put it back together or you will hear a beep when you set the alarm. Jeff
