996 Brake Question???

Will 996 GT3 Brakes fit on a 2002 996 C2 ? I have been asking a bunch of shops and they keep telling me either, a) they dont know, or b) they dont think so but they arent 100% sure and cant tell me why they wont fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

For the life of me I remember someone asking this question and someone replied that the GT3 brakes wont work, but I can't remember why they wont.

It;s possible, but it involves many parts, not just calipers and rotors. A big brake kit would be cheaper..

Your probably right, and I know what your saying, its exactly what the shops are recommending, but some people just want the GT3 Brakes regardless of its cost , It would be really helpful if you could tell me what parts I would need to make it work.

GT3 calipers and rotors will not bolt up to the 02 C2. The caliper bolt spacing is different. You can get them to work if you switch the front hub carriers and wheel bearings to the GT3 units.

If you are looking for a good BBK for the 996 C2, we offer a turbo system which is more than adequate for the power and weight of the C2. More info can be found here: EVO 325MM Turbo BBK

The only good deal you can walk up on a brake upgrade is going to be on a wreck since you can get all the hubs at the same time....

Good Luck,

afterall that is what Porsche uses.. and it will bolt on.. just say it's from the GT3.. not many will know the difference but if you are not doing a TON of track time.. just do the TT upgrade

I agree my next mod maybe the BREMBO BBK. I have a good friend that may have the hook ups. I am thinking I only need the front since I already have factory painted "S" calipers all around.

hey buddy
you ever do any motor upgrades yet? BBK is nice, but really only if you are doing DE days... make that thing come to life with intake (K&n cold air) and GIAC chip!!!

Nah I am a poser...just want some mean looking brakes up front for flossin! hahaha...

as for the K&N...I am scared of MAF problems

as for the GIAC chip...time and time again I have been told its not worth the bang for the buck for a NA car. Now if I had a TT then the chip is supposedly worht it...and will literally wake the car up. But for a NA, the gains are minimal at best...is the word around the campfire.

True or False?

But...I am going to get the SSK..so there...

IMHO False, I had the Evo Intake, Exhaust and Giac Flash and it does wake up the motor, but you have to drive in the higher RPM range. These have been debated for sometime now, the fact is it does increase perfomance minimal yes, but it does increase it.

no I agree it does increase the performance...but is it WORTH the money? An intake, ECU flash, exhaust...what are you paying? Even in the low end...you are in for a couple grand? so $2000 for the gains you get...not really worth it.

I never debated the mods did NOT help..I know they do..I am only debating the cost vs. gains in hp.
