C4S purchase?

I may be in the market for a new C4S, and was looking for some advice. I've had my Supra for a while now, but the Porsche has always been my dream car. I figure if I don't do it now, I won't be able to buy one for a while. So i'm evaluating my options...

Leaning toward a new C4S, but also considering a 2001 TT. I prefer new, but the added power would be nice.

What is a fair price out there that I should try to get the dealer down to? If they retail for about $82-85K, what options would you guys consider "crucial" and how much can I talk them down?

I wanted to get some advice from actual owners before I go in there to talk to the dealers...

Thanks for the help guys

I have just purchased a C4S coming from 2 Boxsters, the last one being a S. My C4S has these options. Heated seats especially for up North,Bose Sound Pkg, seats Black full leather,Matts,Xenon lights for sure,Sports seats your call on that,Techinal exhaust pipes, carbon door sills, porsche crest in headrest,brake/shifter carbon /aluminium. Color is Atlas Grey. Got 4% off list, plus they came up 2,000 more on my Boxster s to sweeten the deal. I also got a special price on a Winter Pkg for snows and rims, normaly $5,000.00 cdn. for $3,900.00 cdn. I find it hard to get great deals on C4S they sell hot up in snowy Montreal, and more and more guys are driving there cars all winter. I was told by my dealer the best time for deals is the last day of the month, I bought mine on the last day of. December

Same here. I have a Boxster S and just purchased a 03 C4S with 7000 miles. It is fully loaded (Carbon, PSE and more).

I love both cars.

For $82-$85K, you can get a mint '01 Turbo with less than 10K miles. If your current Supra is modded, the C4S will be significantly slower than your current car. Don't get me wrong ...the C4S is an awesome car with gorgeous lines. But with a 996TT, you can add a $500 Upsolute chip and have a reliable 500 hp daily driver. Also, the 997 and 997S will be out soon but the Turbo version is probably still 2 years away. Drive both the C4S and TT and I think you'll answer your own question.

I have had my C4S for 2 weeks and love it. I got atlas grey with grphite interior and it looks great.

I would get the supple leather, it makes the interior look much more luxurious, in my opinion, this is a mandatory option.

I also got the Bose, heated seats, technics package, crest in headrest, lumbar support (very nice, adjusts up and down) the ride is firm, but comfortable. Handling is unreal and power more than adequate. My main problem is keeping in under 100.

I also got the Michelin sport pilot, if you have a choice, this is a great tire

Just picked up a '04 C4S

and previously owned a '01 996tt and a '02 C4S.

I prefer the C4S to the turbo. I know that virtually everyone will disagree, but I happen to prefer the ride, handling and balance of the C4S over the turbo. I live in a place where I could not use the turbo's power anywhere near its potential.

Anyways-

My C4S is arctic silver with natural grey leather. Options are xenon, heated seats, bose, CD, and the wonderful Porsche Sport Exhaust. Those are exactly the major options I wanted. MSRP was around $93.5K, I paid $89.5K (car was in stock). Dealer would not go any deeper on the discount because '04 C4S coupes are not plentiful and no one knows if Porsche will bring out a 997 C4S or turbo. Of course that's all "dealerspeak" but I lusted for this car enough to go for the mediocre deal.

Coming from a TTSupra you might have to jump into a 996turbo but the C4S is a kick *** car, by the way I like your Supra, its not "riced"out, very subtle and classy Good luck with your purchase.

The c4s is a sweet car but doesn't offer much in the way of acceleration considersing what you pay. The used 996 turbo market is pretty sweet and makes it hard, imho, to opt for the c4s...
