Had a custom crash helmet once which had the BEST ever paintjob on it. It had been painted with a really nice metallic red - a bit like arena red, but had then had a number of coats of clear put on with really big metalflake lighly dusted on between each clearcoat. The clearcoat was so deep you could see into the paint, and the metalflake added to the perspective of depth, and really popped.

Another thought - I assume you've seen the paint technology which changes color depending on the angle you look at it? Not sure how this would look on a Porsche - but I'd love to see the pictures!

And another thought - if you want a show car, have you thought of looking into the motorcycle world? There is some unbelievable artwork done on bikes...

I am going to check on the car today. They are slow as hell. The car "should" be totally in primer when I get there. They keep having issues with weather, smoke, personel etc. It sometimes sucks getting a great deal, they think since you are getting hoocked up they can take thier time.

I will let you guys know later today.

Well after quite a bit of getting on them they are finally making progress again. They have the drivers side all done including the front bumper extension, which came out perfect. Its already in primer. The passenger side is all done minus the front bumper extension. They primered the rest of it.

They still need to weld and cover the "4th" brake light in the back. All of the bodywork is "supposed" to be done when I go over there today. The rest of the car will be primered tomorrow. Then it needs to cure for a day or so so they can sand it to get ready for base.

I should have the car back by the end of the week next week.

Here is the latest update on my car. They have finished all of the body work and the body of the car has been painted. They still need to paint the front bumper, the wing, the side mirrors and then candy all of the carbon fiber. My brakes are also being done candy apple red.

I picked an unusual color. It is kinda a brandywine. At night it looks nearly black, under direct sun its a cherry color. These were not taken with my SLR and the lighting was hard to get right with the point and shoot.

The car is sitting right now to dry so it can be wet sanded and buffed. The front bumper, wing etc is being painted today. I am hoping to have the car for the first part of next week.

I like how the kit "flows" and looks near facotry.

The car has a nice wide back.

You can really see how wide the car is from this angle.

Oh i forgot to say that the new mufflers are not on yet. Once they go on the tips are going to be adjusted back, they stick way too far out now.
