Cab Top Problem Question

For some reason the top no longer will raise or lower using the button inside the car. Every time I press it I get the flashing top light on the dash. The top will work using the key in the door however. I've tried moving the e-brake into all kinds of different positions and triple checked that the engine lid is firmly closed. There are no obstructions that I can see and like I mentioned, the top works perfectly using the key in the door.

Paolo996 is infamous around these parts
Have you tried opening up the console and checking the connections.? Sounds dumb, but my 2001 Cab did the same thing. Opened it up and jiggled the wires and made sure they were well connected and it's worked fine since.

If it's a bad connection on the switch, the light should not flash either. the problem should be somewhere else.
